Weddings

Our people give much importance to marriage. In our community these marriages now happen in four ways: marriage, second marriage, second wife (sivar sonval), and elopment. For a normal marriage, after the ceremony of deciding on the girl, they do the engagement ceremony. On the day of engagement they select which day the marriage will be. Two or three days before the day of the marriage they will give a sacrifice to the village diety, hold a feast for the village people and make them the bride and groom. On the wedding day, there are deeds like lagḍing, kōḍa-kukḍi, dēva-dēvi, pāri jēvun, and manḍa sūḍle vāyval.
